Use the tech you use at work as a colleague
I so relate to the content of this Ted Talk.
As you know, I work with every business that comes to us through Franchise Simply or Systems2Grow to put together a simplified organisation chart which helps to identify the business processes that run your business – automated or people driven.
But the org charts only identify the people departments – they do not refer to the tech that runs more and more of our businesses today.

Nadjia Yousif has hit the nail on the head in this Ted Talk. Because teams don’t think of tech driven processes as part of their teams. They tend to ignore much of the software they should be using to make their jobs easier, faster and more customer friendly. Too difficult to learn while on the job and the old fashioned way is easier in the short-term.
Nadjia, a self-confessed org chart geek, has chart geek has discovered that when the tech is dealt with as one of the team, to be discovered over coffee or lunch, then it is adopted much more readily. She shows how she puts it into the equation.

The aha moment for me was especially strong because this approach will make it so much easier to identify and capture the key tech driven procedures we need to document and add to the operations manuals which are also there to make the job easier, faster and more customer friendly.
I like anything that makes work clearer and easier for everyone and this is a winner.
